Caroline is a registered psychologist and was worked in a variety of contexts. She has worked at Austin Health in Mental Health for a number of years, working with children, adolescents, and adults presenting with a wide range of difficulties. She has experience in acute risk issues and crisis management. Prior to that she worked in the UK specialising in early intervention in mental health with children and adolescents. Caroline is completing her studies in child and family therapy and has experience in helping parents, families and children to improve their functioning.
Her specific areas of interest include the assessment and treatment of depression, anxiety and trauma in both young people and adults. She has been successful in working with people with self harm, drug and alcohol problems, relationship problems, anger issues, eating disorders and early psychosis.
Caroline has been trained in and uses cognitive behavioural therapy as her main therapeutic approach but also incorporates other therapies such as interpersonal therapy, psychodynaic approaches, acceptance and commitment therapy and narrative therapy.
Carline has a supervision role with psychology students, has developed and presented on mental health issues to primary care providers and the wider community and has run therapy groups for people with depression.
