Halina is highly skilled and experienced in counselling older adolescents and adults with a wide range of emotional and behavioural difficulties. Her particular interests are in:
• mid-life issues
• anxiety and depression
• identity and sexuality issues
• post traumatic stress
• grief and loss
• addictive behaviours
• relationships
• gay & gender issues
She uses psychodynamic psychotherapy as her main treatment modality and has specialist training and expertise in psychological assessment. Halina is able to provide clients with career assessment and advice, assessment of intellectual abilities, and emotional health. With a wealth of experience across several diverse settings, Halina will add considerably to the services provided at DSA.
Prior to joining DSA, Halina gained a wealth of experience across many and varied positions. She was previously Senior Clinical Psychologist for 5 years at a prominent drug rehabilitation centre, a leading drug rehabilitation centre in Melbourne, and before that had worked in the forensic system. She has also worked at Monash Medical Centre in both psychiatry and oncology departments. As a counselling psychologist, she has worked as a student counsellor at Swinburne University of Technology and later at Victoria University of Technology.
Halina is consulting at both the Ringwood and City consulting offices.
