An opportunity now exists for 1 or 2 qualified and experienced clinical or counselling psychologist at DSA Psychologists. With Medicare rebates we have a preference for clinical psychologists but would consider suitably qualified and experienced counselling psychologists. As you can see from our website, David Stickels & Associates P/L is a group of psychologists working together under the framework of the principal's long-standing private practice.
DSA Psychologists is based in Ringwood where we have established our head office in Wantirna Road where we operate 3 consulting rooms. DSA Psychologists have provided services to clients in the outer eastern suburbs for over 35 years and we have established strong liaisons with GPs and Medical Clinics throughout this region and into the Yarra Valley through our previous clinic in Lilydale.
The need for new consultants at Ringwood arises because of ongoing turnover of consultants where they seek to improve their careers in different locations. I also have a constant wish to fill all available sessions at our clinic.
We are particularly in need of an experienced child, adolescent and family psychologist with the ability to work with adults as well. We would also like a psychologist with hypnosis training and experience – these positions may therefore require two appointments.
We have sessions available at Ringwood on most days including Saturday morning.
Please ring me via our Ringwood rooms (9870 9069) if you have any queries, otherwise I look forward to receiving your written, or emailed, application as soon as possible. David Stickels Director
Position Description - Two part-time psychologists.
These positions are available at Ringwood and are part of our consulting psychology practice. We are also looking for experienced psychologists who can work well with a wide range of adult problems including stress, major emotional disorders, relationship counselling and sexual dysfunction. The requirement for CBT training and experience is also paramount and training in hypnosis would be an advantage.

- Qualified and experienced in child, adolescent and family psychology;
- Capable of working with adults and with a wide range of psychological disorders;
- Must want to work in a small team, including attending meetings where necessary in Ringwood, and undertaking regular supervision.

One or Two Positions available:

Remuneration is based on a generous fee-share arrangement with details available on enquiry to the practice director (email below). In general it involves a 60:40 split of our standard fees received - ie $102 per hour for Clinical Psychologists and $90 per hour for Counselling Psychologists - with adjustments made for other fee structures such as Workcover, TAC, Vet's Affairs and rebate-only clients.
All psychologists in the practice must be able to operate independently within the framework of our organisation. This means being experienced but also willing to undertake supervision as required and to attend occasional management meetings at Ringwood. General duties are to provide therapy or assessments to clients on appointment – these are all made through our head office. There may also be opportunity to provide workshops and presentations and this is an area that could be developed. Appointments are made to the clinic on referral from a doctor or school, or via our marketing activities - mainly Yellow Pages Online. Appointments are generally for 50 minutes.
There may also be possibilities for DSA psychologists to undertake organisational development with companies and governmental departments in our region, but these occur on only an ad hoc basis.
